Zhang Yaoshan, named Yuanren, is from Peixian County. In his life, he set up accounts and taught apprentices as his career. After the death of Zhang Shishan, his disciples and fellow villagers donated money to set up a memorial.

The writer of the inscription, Zhang Jingzhai, was born in Qishan in 1875. He studied at Peixian Gefeng Academy and Xuzhou Yunlong Academy, and was a student of tribute. After the abolition of the imperial examination system, Zhang Jingzhai was admitted to Liangjiang University. He once participated in the compilation of Peixian Chronicle of the Republic of China with Zhao Xifan of Peinan and Yan Hanting of Peibei, and was one of the celebrities of Peidi in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.
