Pei County built a town east of Sishui in the Yuan Dynasty. Ming Jiajing 21 years (1542), the northern ethnic groups invaded the Ming border, in order to defend against enemy invasion, the imperial court Tongling county built cities. The newly built Pei County Earth Town is located on the west bank of Surabaya, with a circumference of five li. There are moats outside the city, battlements above them, and four gates -- Yongqing, Hui Yuan, Hengxiu and Gongji -- which are well-controlled and convenient for defense.
