Shanxi Guild Hall is a club type organization established by Shanxi merchants to exchange business information and communicate the feelings of fellow townspeople. Most of the prefectures, counties and even commercial ports in the Central Plains have set up one.

The former site of Shanxi Guild Hall in Peixian County was located in the area of the present Gulou Community. It was first built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. Qing Daoguang two years (1822) reconstruction. The opera house in the hall was rebuilt in 1831.
