Exhibition Introduction

Stone carving art has a long history in China. More than 1000 stone and tablet carvings of all kinds found in Peixian County, spanning more than 2000 years from the Han Dynasty to the Republic of China.

Peixian County is the birthplace of Han culture, and the Han Dynasty Dafeng Song Stele has an important position in the history of Chinese steles. The Han stone reliefs unearthed from the Qishan Han Tomb and the Huling City Site are also rare art treasures. Peixian County is located in the lower reaches of the Yellow River, on the shore of Peize. After the war of the river, Gaofu sank on the land, and Pingchou became a lake. Many stone carvings were buried underground, leaving people with endless reverie.

The existing historical stone and tablet inscriptions in Peixian County mainly include: Han Dynasty portrait stone, Dafeng Song stone, chronicle stone, respect for teachers and religions stone, lake group stone, gentry celebrity stone, Wulin stone, Taoist temple stone, etc. These inscriptions carry comprehensive information about politics, economy, culture, society, folk customs, art and other aspects of Peixian County in various historical periods, and become an indispensable physical proof of Peixian County's history and culture, and are the precious historical and cultural heritage of Peixian County.

The blue stone is speechless, engraved with a history of wind rising and clouds flying, and the inscription can speak, telling a real and moving story in detail.
